Mr Gaetan Lin Sin Cho
Partner & Clinical Director
Known as Mr Guy Lin, he graduated at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Guy completed his internship at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. His medical career then took him to Mauritius, his home country, where he worked for several years before settling in England where he undertook surgical training in Exeter. Guy became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001.
Guy also trained as a GP in Devon, qualifying in 2004. He joined the Probus partnership in that same year as a GP and part-time surgeon with Probus Surgical Centre. Guy’s interests lie in vasectomy and minor surgery. He has performed over 2000 vasectomies. He is also responsible for the assessment of medical students from the Peninsula Medical School during their surgical attachment.

Mr Gopalswamy
Surgeon
Mr Gopalswamy is an experienced consultant general surgeon working in NHS and has been working at Royal Cornwall Hospital since April 2005. He specialises in both upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, delivering high quality day case operations in general surgery. His special interest is in gallbladder and hernia problems. He deals with very complex hernia problems at Treliske hospital, and is also a General Paediatric Surgeon.
Mr Gopalswamy is a faculty of Royal College of Surgeons in teaching basic surgical skills and core laparoscopic skills for trainees. He is an educational and clinical supervisor for trainees and voted as the best foundation educational supervisor in the trust. He is also honorary teaching fellow of the University of Exeter Medical School. He has numerous publications in scientific journals.

Mr Badie George
Surgeon & Medi-Aesthetics
Mr George studied and qualified in medicine at Ain Shams University in Cairo in 1989. He worked in the Republic of Ireland til 1993 and the Aberdeen Royal Infermary til July 1994, before Joining the Royal Cornwall Hospital where he is employed to this day.
Special Interests: Cataract surgery and managing diabetic retinopathy. Mr George also has 8 years experience in medi-aesthetics and specialises in anti-ageing procedures.

Dr Rawlins Murthy
GP Partner
Born and educated in India, he studied Medicine in Nepal and has been working as a doctor in the NHS since 2005. After qualification he started training in the field of Surgery, but after a placement at Probus surgery decided to change his career path to become a GP. His clinical interests are Eldercare Medicine (old age) Psychiatry, Urinary and prostate problems in men, Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic and Surgical diseases, and a passion for Medi-Aesthetics.
Dr Murthy has since joined the Surgical Centre to perform vasectomies and the Partnership of Probus Surgery and Cornwall Medical Group.
Mr Arumugam
Surgeon
Mr Arumugam (Aru) Mr Arumugam is an experienced hernia surgeon and has been a Consultant in General Surgery at the Royal Cornwall Hospital since 2004. He specialises in Colorectal Cancer surgery, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease & functional bowel work.
Clinical Interests: Hernia Repair – Laparoscopic and open for inguinal and incisional / umbilical and femoral hernia.

Dr Kayleigh Smithson
GP Partner
Dr Kayleigh Marie Smithson was born in Yorkshire and trained at the Hull York Medical School. After completing her Registrar year at Probus Surgery and qualifying in 2017 she went on to becoming a Partner in 2019.
Dr Smithson completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology gaining a distinction with Cardiff university in 2020, and carries out regular skin and cryotherapy clinics, as well as recently further extending these skills into aesthetic medicine.
Special interests: Acute medicine, joint injections and teaching.
Outside of work Dr Smithson is a big fan of music, playing guitar and piano and following dance music.
Mr Ben John Yates
Consultant Podiatric Surgeon

Ben has performed over 12000 foot and ankle procedures. The majority of this surgery is performed on a day case basis under either local or general anaesthetic or sedation. Recent independent audits have demonstrated high patient satisfaction rates (93% at two year follow-up) for a variety of common foot and ankle procedures undertaken by Mr Yates.
Mr Yates has lectured at both national and international conferences and authored a number of journal articles. He is the principal editor of the textbook Assessment of the Lower Limb (Elsevier). He sits on the advisory panel for several journal publications and sits on the Faculty Board for Podiatric Surgeons.
Mr Yates performs all aspects of foot and ankle surgery from ingrown toe nails to complex foot reconstructions. He has a particular interest in deformity correction and the surgical management of arthritis. Ben is a keen sportsman and this coupled with his Masters in Sports injuries and rehabilitation gives him a keen insight to dealing with lower limb sports injuries.
Many conditions can be treated successfully without surgery and careful assessment, often involving imaging studies, is needed to help diagnose the condition and plan the best management. Mr Yates uses the most advanced treatment options for the management of overuse conditions such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonopathy including Extracorpeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) and enhanced injection techniques and orthotics.
Matthew Cichero
Consultant Podiatric Surgeon & Specialist in Biomechanics

Matthew Cichero graduated as a podiatrist in 1996 in Australia, and was awarded the Peer Professional Clinical prize. In 2007 he completed his Masters degree in podiatry specialising in podiatric surgery, and completed his Australian podiatric surgical fellowship in 2011. Mr. Cichero became the first Australian podiatric surgeon to be awarded dual Fellowship when he was qualified with the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery (UK) in 2013.
He moved to Swindon in 2010 and works as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at the Great Western Hospital. Previously he has worked establishing clinical services in Singapore and remote indigenous populations in the Northern Territory of Australia. He has also held lecturing positions at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
Mr. Cichero has performed over 3000 foot and ankle procedures. The majority of this surgery is performed on a day-care basis under either local or general anaesthetic. His many years working in biomechanics, orthotics and injection therapy gives him a unique insight into the conservative management of many lower limb injuries which can be treated successfully without surgery.
He uses evidence-based management and treatment for common foot and ankle pathologies such as heel and arch pain. Mr. Cichero is actively involved in sports such as triathlons, giving him an insight into many sports injury management pathways and the needs of an athlete. Mr. Cichero has presented both at national and international conferences and authored a number of peer reviewed international articles.
